Great fresh fish well cooked. Their chips were wonderful and the service is beyond wonderful. Highly recommend this place for a well cooked lunch or dinner

Order dinner for the family. The shorted my fish and gave me a small box of fries. When I called to let the restaurant know. The manager and his associates was rude, they hung up on me.Will never go there, or buy from them again. I will also tell my co- workers and friends not to support this business.

Best fish and chips in Durham region! I do not say this lightly. As an easy coaster, I am extremely picky with my fish. Not only do they serve gigantic portions, it is always cooked to perfection, lightly breaded and crispy. I always order a small fry but they give me enough fries to feed 3! Their fries are also addicting and their gravy is delicious. My boyfriend doesn’t even like fish but he ate his entire portion and asked for more! I’ve ordered 5 times now and we have never once been disappointed!

Captain George fish and chips . Wish i had read the reviews before i went there. The worst fish and chips i have ever had. Fish was greasy and chips were very very over cooked couldnt eat them and im not a fussy eater .

When I'm in the mood for fish and chips, Captain George's is the only place to go! No greasy aftertaste like some places and they are always fast and the staff is friendly.

Disgusting! Under cooked greasy. I ordered halibut and no way it was the fish was dark and smelly. And way to expensive.

I cannot understand why this fish and chip restaurant has a rating of 4.3 . We decided to have take out of fish and chips due to not having electricity tonight . The food was disgusting and overpriced. The chips were burnt so very disappointing. As I have recently moved from the UK , me and family were looking forward to tasting some nice fish and chips they were not up to the standards of UK fish and chips. I will not be eating here again and will not be recommending to friends and family.

Nice and clean restaurant with a super friendly staff. The poutine they serve here is amazing. This location has lots of parking and they deliver, bonus!

Good Friday fish and chips. Horrible !! Fish was dry and chips were bottom of the barrel. Greek salad was nothing more than wilted lettuce and a couple of olives. Feta cheese was non existent. Dressing? What dressing!. Over 40 bucks for this meal ! Wow ! Honestly not worth it! Won't be returning.

Excellent food and service

Some of the best food I’ve had! I got the homemade burger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. The cheesecake was also sooooooo good. Staff is friendly and will take care of you, they checked on our table all throughout our meal to make sure it was okay, which was nice. Will definitely be back.

Typical Fish and chips place. Clean, nice servers decent food. They have options for people who don't like deep fried fish like hamburgers and grilled sole.

Stopped in order the number for fry 12 bucks basically for level number for box of fries french fries are cheap and they cheap out on the price they charge you 10 bucks but don't give you any quantity number for fry should be able to feed as they say five people there was enough may be to feed three if Lucky

We go on Monday-Wednesday night specials. Always delicious and reasonably priced. The batter is so crispy and light. Not greasy! Delicious!

Best fish and chips around not to greasy and a good price

Ordered the 4 piece of fish and 3 order of fries and added a large gravy. Sent 1 small order of fries and not enough gravy to cover the one small order of fries they did sent me. Wasnt expecting enough to cover all 3 orders but would've liked at least half the fries to have gravy. Only reason they get a 2 is because the fish was tasty and they sent the proper amount. Driver deserved his tip. Was friendly and polite. Restaurant did not.

Best Fish and chips -halibut I have had. Awesome batter, light and flaky fish and wonderful gravy. Well worth the money!!

My wife and I have visited other Captain George's but this astablishment takes the cake .My wife ordered a fish and chips and paid for it.By cooking area the owner was sweeping the floor,when he was done with that he went to start our order he placed the fish in the batter without washing his hands. My wife asked him politely to wash and start a new batch of fish ,he claimed that he did wash his hands and he refused to wash so wife asked back for our money and he refused to give it back and he became very heated and rude at that point we just took our order an left.Advice to everybody watch the cleanliness of risk your health if you go there.

First off, the pancakes are large, fluffy and plentiful. The kids breakfast came with three! Unfortunately, thats where the honeymoon ended. Poached eggs were overcooked. I get they're not easy to make, but if you're going to ask how i want them, make them right. But the worst offender was the 'cheese omelette'. The menu says cheddar cheese, but it was both covered and filled with processed cheese slices. Personally, i think this should be illegal. If you are covering my food in plastic, you should be obligated to tell me before i order. But i digress. Order the pancakes!

Have only gotten food delivered from here, but it's the best fish & chips in the Durham Region by a mile!

Service is always excellent and kind. Food is great and always comes incredibly quick.

I eat here usually once a week. And I enjoy the halibut and chips.
